Project Description

Design and Field Engineering

Construction of the forebay berm was undertaken as part of a ground mitigation project for the Walden North generating facility in Lillooet, BC.

The hydroelectric plant, which generates 15 megawatts through five Francis turbines, had a significant amount of gravel transported within the creek bed. Austin Engineering’s principal engineer designed the berm to help mitigate and reduce gravel intake, which significantly reduced unit maintenance time and costs for this facility.
