Our team works closely with clients to deliver personalized engineering, specializing in hydrotechnical, structural, geotechnical, and dam safety services. We are driven by our commitment to excellence, innovation, and client success and apply these values to all projects large or small.

At Austin Engineering, research is paired with both modern and traditional practices in all facets of business. Our multidisciplinary team operates with an exceptional level of care and precision to help our clients reach and even exceed their goals.

Austin Engineering continues to lead Canada in the use of 3D printed dam models for hydraulic and seismic testing, which is done in-house at our hydraulics lab and also at our research partner’s lab at the University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBCO).

We work collaboratively with UCBO and our other partners – Selkirk College and FortisBC – to develop ways of better understanding and supporting extreme consequence dams; we use shake table technology to expertly demonstrate our ground-breaking research and experimental investigation into complex dam-water interactions.

In 2018 our results were presented at the Canadian Dam Association Conference, and our efforts were recognized in both 2017 and 2018 with the Clean Energy BC ‘Operational Excellence’ Award.
Our passion for understanding how dams respond during earthquakes is heralding a new era of dam safety.
