Open Positions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead geotechnical projects
  • Undertake geotechnical investigations and participate in layout and field engineering activities
  • Geotechnical design analysis including routing studies, stability assessments, heavy industrial foundations, dams, or geo-environmental projects
  • Complete site visits and review contractor performance for rock stabilization, grouting, backfill and excavation work for both rock and soil
  • Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences and errors
  • Field and quality control inspections of foundation elements
  • Prepare designs, specifications, construction estimates and detail drawings
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, contractors and third-party inspection services to successfully complete geotechnical projects

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience and currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGBC
  • Collaborative, team player with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic, driven, self-starter who embraces change with flexibility and a positive attitude
  • Ability to prioritize work capacity while maintaining service excellence and meeting client needs
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills and the ability to delegate effectively
  • Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent)

Preference will be given to candidates who:

  • Have strong dam-safety related experience
  • Take pride in their work
  • Are self-directed and feel comfortable either working alone or leading a team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates
  • Prepare specifications for engineering works
  • Project QAQC oversight and management
  • Field inspection and inspection writing
  • Assist in establishing detailed programs for the planning of the design and construction processes
  • Communicate with project managers and tradespeople
  • Analyze and record reports on loading, labour, productivity, quality, materials and performance
  • Complete design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other design software
  • Measure and test materials, processes or systems related to engineering works
  • Inspect engineering works, and supervise repair and maintenance work
  • Check to ensure that finished works are within specifications, contract terms and regulations

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have valid Civil Engineering Technologist or Professional Technologist diploma
  • Currently registered with ASTTBC
